Preis Sevnica Invests $35.8M in Transformer Tank Factory

Slovenia – Preis Sevnica has received supervisory board approval for a $35.8 million (€32 million) investment in a new factory in Sevnica, Slovenia, to expand production of large power transformer tanks, according to Managing Director Zvonko Vranić.
The company plans to increase annual manufacturing capacity by approximately 60%, from 5,100 to 8,000 tonnes by the end of 2029.
Two production halls totaling 2,400 square meters were completed in 2026. Three additional buildings are planned through 2029, with final equipment installation scheduled for 2030.
The expansion will introduce automation, robotics and additional production shifts, alongside enhanced corrosion protection capabilities to meet customer requirements.
Approximately 80 new jobs are expected.
Preis Sevnica supplies transformer manufacturers including Siemens Energy and Hitachi Energy.
The investment adds to European transformer tank manufacturing capacity as suppliers expand production to meet demand.
