Qualitrol Invests US$15.5 Million to Expand New York Manufacturing
Qualitrol has announced a US$15.5 million expansion of its manufacturing facility in Perinton, New York, increasing production capacity for monitoring and protection technologies used across the electric power industry. The project will add up to 60,000 square feet to the existing site and is expected to create 117 new jobs.
The expansion is intended to support growing demand for equipment used to monitor and protect high-value electrical assets, including power transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, and other transmission and distribution infrastructure. Qualitrol manufactures condition monitoring systems and diagnostic technologies that help utilities and industrial customers improve asset reliability and maintenance planning.
According to the company, the additional manufacturing space will strengthen production capabilities and support future business growth. The investment also reinforces Qualitrol's long-term presence in the Rochester region, where the company has operated for decades and continues to expand its manufacturing footprint.
The project is part of continued investment in U.S. manufacturing for grid technologies as utilities modernize aging infrastructure and increase spending on asset monitoring to improve grid reliability and resilience.
