Willdan Wins Five US Energy Infrastructure Projects
Willdan Group has received limited notices to proceed for five energy infrastructure projects totaling 643 MW.
The notices cover engineering and procurement for a transformer substation serving a 100 MW data center in California; a 75 MW battery energy storage system (BESS) in Texas; and transformer substations for 300 MW of renewable generation in Texas and 88 MW and 80 MW of renewable generation in Illinois.
“These awards reflect the expanding investment in energy infrastructure across the country,” said Mike Bieber, Willdan’s CEO. “Willdan’s growing depth of expertise in high voltage design and construction management is in high demand as the information economy seeks solutions to grid constraints.”
The assignments span three states and include substation work supporting data center and renewable generation capacity, alongside battery storage. They highlight grid modernization and digital substations and battery storage in supporting grid stability as electricity demand and renewable deployment continue to grow.
