Prolec GE, a joint venture between Xignux and GE Vernova, has completed a $34 million expansion of its Shreveport, Louisiana, manufacturing facility. The project, which began in early 2023, added a new production line for three-phase pad-mount transformers and optimized existing lines for network transformers and voltage regulators, increasing production capacity by approximately 15%.

This expansion strengthens Prolec GE's ability to address growing demand for energy-efficient grid solutions, particularly for renewable energy applications such as wind farms and solar parks. The facility's increased capacity, including the addition of over 1,500 units annually, will also help ease U.S. transformer supply chain constraints.

The project created more than 270 new jobs, boosting Shreveport's economy and reinforcing local workforce development. Federal and local dignitaries, including representatives from Louisiana Economic Development and the Transformer Manufacturing Association of America (TMAA), attended the unveiling ceremony.

Ricardo Suarez, CEO of Prolec Energy, highlighted the importance of this milestone, stating, "This expansion enhances our ability to meet the growing needs of our customers and supports a reliable and resilient U.S. electrical grid." Scott Strazik, CEO of GE Vernova, added, "The new production line and jobs created improve our supply chain for critical grid equipment, enabling energy and national security."
