Netel Wins $6.1M Substation Contract in Norway
Netel has secured a $6.1 million (SEK 60 million) contract from Elvia to construct the Isebakke substation in Halden, south of Oslo. Completion is scheduled for after summer 2028.
Netel's subsidiary Nett-Tjenester will deliver the turnkey high-voltage system, including digital control systems, electrical components, groundworks and power line pylons.
The substation will increase grid capacity in Halden, strengthen security of supply and accommodate growing electricity demand.
Elvia operates electricity networks across Oslo, Innlandet, Akershus and Østfold, connecting more than two million people.
“Elvia is a client we have come to know well and with whom we have carried out many projects,” said Jeanette Reuterskiöld, Netel's President and CEO. “This is proof of our effective collaboration and strong delivery capability.”
The project involves digital substation automation and high-voltage infrastructure, with integrated instrument transformer technologies providing broader context for modern substation design.
