Ganz Transformers to Supply Advanced Testing Equipment for Pennsylvania Facility
Pennsylvania Transformer Technology (PTT) is set to expand its transformer and reactor testing capabilities through the installation of a new motor-synchronous generator test system supplied by Ganz Transformers and Electric Rotating Machines Plc.
According to the company, the project includes the delivery of a 2 MW / 6 MVA motor-generator test set for PTT's test facility in Pennsylvania. The equipment is intended to support more advanced testing of transformers and reactors as demand for grid infrastructure continues to grow.
The project will be delivered as a turnkey solution, incorporating the motor-generator test equipment, monitoring and excitation systems, a medium-voltage frequency converter, protection relays, auxiliary equipment, and on-site installation and commissioning services.
Ganz Transformers and Electric Rotating Machines Plc. is working with Swedish engineering company Electric Drive Technology EDT AB, which will provide the frequency converter, medium-voltage circuit breaker, and switchgear solutions for the project.
The companies expect the system to be delivered and commissioned in the United States later in 2026.
The investment is expected to enhance testing capabilities at PTT's Pennsylvania facility, supporting the validation and performance assessment of transformers and reactors used in power transmission and distribution networks.
