Entech Wins $45M EPC Deal Including 90 kV Substation
French energy technology company Entech has secured a nearly $45 million (€40 million) EPC contract that includes construction of a high-voltage substation connecting a 90 MW/180 MWh battery storage facility to France's 90 kV transmission network.
The substation will connect the battery energy storage system (BESS) to the grid operated by RTE, France's transmission system operator.
Awarded by an undisclosed electricity producer, the agreement is Entech's largest contract as a sole EPC contractor. The company will oversee engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning, including equipment supplier selection and civil works.
The contract also includes a renewable five-year operations and maintenance (O&M) agreement.
Christopher Franquet, Entech's Chairman and CEO, said the project demonstrates the company's capacity to manage larger infrastructure projects independently.
The substation infrastructure will enable electricity injection and withdrawal between the battery facility and transmission grid, supporting network flexibility.
