Marsons, Cleanhill plan North American transformer JV
Indian power transformer manufacturer Marsons Limited and New York-based equity firm Cleanhill Partners have announced plans to establish a joint venture covering transformer distribution, servicing and manufacturing across the United States and Canada.
The proposed partnership combines Marsons' transformer engineering and manufacturing capabilities and existing US project experience with Cleanhill's North American market network, capital and operational expertise.
Marsons is currently executing transformer orders for major US utility and renewable energy projects, including generator step-up (GSU) transformers rated up to 200 MVA and pad-mounted transformers at multiple locations.
The companies are targeting North America's transformer supply gap, where constrained manufacturing capacity has contributed to equipment lead times exceeding 24 months.
Utilities, renewable energy developers and other power infrastructure customers are increasingly seeking diversified supply chains and more reliable access to transformer equipment.
The planned venture aims to expand transformer availability and service capabilities across both markets.
