Voltamp Plans New Transformer Facility in Gujarat by June 2026
Indian company Voltamp Transformers Ltd has announced that construction of its new extra-high-voltage (EHV) transformer manufacturing facility in Gujarat is progressing on schedule, with commissioning targeted for June 2026.
The company has so far spent about $9.9 million (₹82.82 crore) on the project, part of a total planned investment of $24 million (₹200 crore). The expansion will be funded entirely through internal accruals.
Located at Jarod in Vadodara district, the new plant will have an initial annual production capacity of around 6,000 MVA. Voltamp, which already operates two facilities in Gujarat—at Makarpura and Vadadla—said the project is progressing “as per schedule.”
In the second quarter of FY26 (July–September 2025), Voltamp achieved a key milestone by producing, testing, and clearing inspection of its highest-rated power transformer to date — a 160 MVA, 220 kV class unit — delivered ahead of schedule.
Between April 1 and November 8, 2025, the company booked $165.9 million (₹1,377 crore) in new orders totaling 11,442 MVA, with an additional $11.1 million (₹92 crore) in finalized orders pending formal purchase orders.
Voltamp said the outlook for transformer demand in India remains strong, driven by grid expansion, renewable-energy projects, and industrial growth. The company continues to be selective with new orders, focusing on profitability, execution certainty, and healthy cash flow.
