Ukraine implementing major transformer upgrade program

16 Jun 2019

UKRAINE - Ukraine's National Power Company Ukrenergo plans to upgrade 18 autotransformers at 12 of its substations in the course of this year.

The upgrade is part of the major transformer program approved in 2016 which plans for replacement and installation of 52 transformers that reached the end of their life and have been operating for over 40 years, reports Interfax.

This year, the company has already replaced two autotransformers at the 330 kV Rivne and Poltava substations and installed new AT-4 transformer at the Kremenchuk 330 kV substation.

The Ukrenergo's transmission network upgrade project is being supported with $167 million from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
