ENERGO-PRO Advances Substation Upgrades in Varna
ENERGO-PRO has reported progress on electricity infrastructure projects in Bulgaria’s Varna region, including transformer installations and substation upgrades.
At the Maksuda substation, a new power transformer has been installed to increase capacity. Reconstruction at the Trakata substation is complete, including installation of another transformer. Plans call for a third transformer and a new 20 kV distribution system.
Construction of the 110 kV Dobreva Cheshma node station, developed by ERP North AD, is nearing completion before handover to ESO EAD for grid connection. Feasibility studies for the Eskimos and Druzhba node stations are complete, but property matters remain unresolved.
The projects form part of wider efforts to expand and modernize the regional network, where smart grid sensors can improve distribution-grid reliability and substation protection measures help reduce equipment-related risks.
ENERGO-PRO executives also discussed construction coordination, infrastructure protection, obstacles to network expansion and other local planning constraints with Varna municipal officials.
