Hyosung and Trench Sign 765 kV Bushing Supply Deal
A long-term capacity agreement for high-voltage bushings has been signed between Hyosung Heavy Industries and Trench Group at CWIEME Berlin 2026, aimed at strengthening supply for the U.S. power transmission market.
The agreement secures the supply of bushings for voltage levels up to 765 kV, supporting grid infrastructure projects through Hyosung Heavy Industries’ HSP manufacturing facility. The components are intended for use in high-voltage transmission systems, including large-scale utility applications in the United States.
Hyosung Heavy Industries, a global transformer manufacturer with an expanding industrial footprint in the U.S., brings experience in 765 kV-class equipment production. Trench Group, a long-established supplier of high-voltage components, has previously delivered solutions for 765 kV transmission networks across multiple continents.
Speaking on the agreement, Dr. Bahadir Basdere, President and CEO of Trench Group, said:
“The US grid is undergoing a fundamental transformation, and 765 kV technology is at the heart of it. Partnering with Hyosung to secure 765 kV bushing supply is exactly the kind of commitment this market needs right now. This agreement ensures the supply chain is ready for what comes next.”
The agreement was signed at CWIEME Berlin 2026 by Kyung Hyun Nam, Chief Procurement Officer of Hyosung Heavy Industries, and Dr. Bahadir Basdere.
Both companies stated the partnership aims to reinforce supply chain stability for high-voltage grid expansion projects and support increasing demand for ultra-high-voltage transmission infrastructure.
