ABL to Support Marine Operations at 976.5 MW Gennaker Wind Farm

Two 450 MW offshore substations for Skyborn Renewables’ Gennaker offshore wind farm have been loaded out in the Netherlands ahead of installation in Germany’s Baltic Sea.
The OSS Zingst and OSS Darß substations will collect electricity generated by Gennaker’s turbines and transform it to 220 kV for transmission to the new Gnewitz substation onshore, approximately 70–90 km away.
The facilities form part of 50Hertz’s OST-6-1 grid connection, which will provide transmission capacity of up to 927 MW.
OSS Zingst was loaded out at HSM Offshore Energy’s yard in Schiedam, while OSS Darß was loaded at Smulders’ facility in Vlissingen. The HSI Joint Venture, comprising HSM Offshore Energy, Smulders and Iv, is responsible for engineering, procurement, construction, transport, installation and commissioning.
