NeXtWind Selects R&S Group for Wind Farm Power Transformers
R&S Group Holding AG has signed a framework agreement with NeXtWind for the project-based supply of power transformers for wind farm projects and repowering activities.
The transformers will be supplied through R&S Group’s ZREW brand, which specializes in power transformers for transmission grids and renewable energy projects. NeXtWind, headquartered in Berlin and London, acquires and develops existing wind farms through repowering, technical modernization and plant management.
Matthias Weibel, CEO a.i. and CFO of R&S Group, said: “This frame contract underlines the momentum we are building in renewables.”
The agreement supports procurement for NeXtWind’s planned repowering portfolio and R&S Group’s expansion in the wind energy sector. R&S Group is also expanding its power transformer capacity in Łódź, Poland, which is expected to double by 2028.
The company said the additional capacity will help meet demand from wind and grid projects while supporting shorter lead times for developers.
