HPS to Build $36M Transformer Facility in Fort Worth, Texas
Hammond Power Solutions (HPS) is expanding its U.S. transformer manufacturing capacity with a new $36 million (C$50 million) facility in Fort Worth, Texas, responding to rising demand from data centers, electrification and power infrastructure projects.
Production is expected to begin in stages from Q4 2027, with full operation targeted for Q1 2028. The facility is projected to add approximately $177.3 million in annual manufacturing capacity, with potential total annual capacity of $283 million-$284 million as the site scales.
“This new investment in a U.S. facility is about being closer to our customers and better positioned to support the long-term demand we are seeing for our products,” said HPS CEO Adrian Thomas. “Demand for transformers continues to increase, particularly from large projects tied to data centers, electrification and power infrastructure.”
HPS plans to invest $35 million-$36 million to equip and commission the initial production phase. The Fort Worth facility will expand HPS’s U.S. manufacturing footprint and shorten delivery distances for customers requiring standard and custom-engineered transformers for large-scale projects.
