R&S Inaugurates $35.6M Power Transformer Plant in Poland

R&S Group inaugurated its $35.6 million (CHF 29 million) power transformer plant in Łódź, Poland, on November 3. Operating since October, the facility expands transformer production capacity for units rated up to 160 MVA/220 kV. The investment supports larger units for battery storage, data centers, rail and other growing markets. Payback is expected within 18 months.
“Our new power transformer plant in Łódź demonstrates what ‘Stepping up in Power’ means for the R&S Group as a whole: increased capacities for larger transformers lead to a portfolio shift towards higher-value growth in structurally expanding markets. We have a new plant and a clear growth plan – now it is all about execution, step by step”, said Matthias Weibel, CEO a.i. and CFO.
At October-end, R&S Group reported a record $466 million (CHF 380 million) order backlog and confirmed FY2026 net sales guidance of $503–515 million (CHF 410–420 million), subject to large transformer deliveries.
