Vantage Reserves Over 1 GW of Heron SST Capacity
United States – Vantage has reserved over 1 GW of manufacturing capacity for Heron PowerElectronics' Heron Link solid-state transformers (SSTs), intended for hyperscale AI data centers.
Announced October 21, the agreement covers future manufacturing capacity rather than completed deliveries. Heron Link is designed to convert medium-voltage grid electricity directly to 800 VDC, integrating energy storage to buffer variable computing loads.
Heron targets conversion efficiency above 98.5%. The companies say fewer conversion stages could reduce electrical equipment, power losses and installation complexity compared with conventional architectures, amid wider power equipment procurement challenges. Heron participates in NVIDIA's 800 VDC MGX ecosystem.
“Our customers need a faster and more efficient way to deploy increasingly power-dense and flexible AI infrastructure,” said Curtis Aubry, Vantage's vice president of global product strategy.
Heron founder and CEO Drew Baglino said the agreement aims to support repeatable 800 VDC deployment. Neither company disclosed the contract value, delivery timetable or deployment locations.
