Trench Group and Meta Sign Agreement for High-Voltage Bushings
Trench Group has signed a Strategic Capacity Agreement with Meta covering the supply of high-voltage bushings for the technology company’s expanding hyperscale data center infrastructure.
Under the agreement, Trench Group will supply dry-type RIS bushings for Meta projects. Production will take place at HSP – Leading Grid Connections US in Charlotte, HSP Germany and Trench France, with deliveries made through a global network of OEM partners.
The agreement comes amid growing electricity demand from data centers, driven in part by AI and cloud computing. Trench Group, citing IEA data, said global data center electricity consumption is expected to double to 945 TWh by 2030.
"Our collaboration with Meta demonstrates the shared commitment to building the power infrastructure for North America's digital future. Rooted in a legacy of innovation – our ancestors invented the condenser bushing over 120 years ago – we continue to push the boundaries of what is possible in high-voltage technology. With a track record of exceptional quality and our strong global production network, we bring the technology, capacity, and speed to enable fast, safe, and scalable grid connections for hyperscale environments." - Dr. Bahadir Basdere, President & CEO of Trench Group
The agreement links the expansion of data center capacity with demand for high-voltage grid connection components used in power infrastructure.
