Končar and Dalekovod to Build Wind and Transmission Infrastructure in North Macedonia
Končar and Dalekovod, part of the Končar Group, have been selected to deliver a substation and overhead transmission line package as well as wind farm infrastructure in North Macedonia, in a contract worth approximately $61 million (€53.76 million).
The companies said the contract was awarded by Alcazar Energy through its special purpose vehicles in North Macedonia. Of the total value, approximately $25.5 million (€22.49 million) relates to the substation and overhead transmission line (SS/OHL) scope, while €31.27 million covers the wind farm development.
The project forms part of a larger renewable energy scheme with an installed wind generation capacity of approximately 337.5 MW. It includes construction of the Baltalija 400/35 kV substation and a double-circuit 400 kV overhead transmission line, which will provide the main grid connection point to the national transmission system.
The works combine high-voltage transmission infrastructure and generation assets, reflecting an integrated approach to grid connection for large-scale renewable projects.
According to the companies, the contract further strengthens Končar Group’s position in the North Macedonian market and reinforces its capabilities in delivering complex energy infrastructure, particularly in transmission systems and renewable energy integration.
The project is expected to support the expansion of renewable capacity in the region while enhancing cross-border transmission infrastructure and grid stability.
