Utili-Serve Plans $24.8M Substation Manufacturing Expansion
Utili-Serve will invest more than $24.8 million to expand its Conover, North Carolina, headquarters and build a 25,000-square-foot manufacturing facility, creating 105 jobs.
Announced by Governor Josh Stein on October 14, 2026, the expansion will introduce field control and protective relay panel manufacturing, complementing the company’s existing substation construction, maintenance and transformer services.
The facility will serve as a regional manufacturing, project management and logistics hub supporting utility-scale grid projects along the US East Coast.
Ben Dietrich, President of Utili-Serve, said: “As grid demand grows, Utili-Serve remains committed to supporting our energy partners, investing locally, expanding our capabilities, and creating new opportunities for our employees and community.”
Founded in 2008, Utili-Serve operates 30 specialised construction crews. The expansion is supported by a conditional $250,000 One North Carolina Fund grant, contingent on meeting investment and job creation targets.
