Hitachi Energy Secures $398 Million Enedis Transformer Agreements
Hitachi Energy has signed long-term framework agreements worth €350 million ($398 million) with French distribution system operator Enedis for distribution and power transformers and lifecycle services.
The agreements secure long-term transformer capacity for Enedis as it expands and modernizes France’s distribution grid to support rising electricity demand, renewable energy integration, electric mobility and industrial electrification. Supply will be supported by Hitachi Energy’s manufacturing operations in Italy and Poland.
“Hitachi Energy and Enedis share a nearly two-decade relationship, supported by our manufacturing footprint in Italy and Poland,” said Bruno Melles, CEO of Hitachi Energy’s Transformers Business Unit.
The agreements also include Environmental Product Declarations covering lifecycle environmental performance and data-driven lifecycle services aimed at reducing unplanned outages, improving transformer efficiency and extending asset life.
Hitachi Energy operates more than 60 transformer factories and 30 service centers worldwide and employs over 20,000 people in its Transformers business.
