Winder Power has successfully completed the manufacture, installation, and build-up of a 12/24 MVA, 66/11.5kV Yyn0 Transformer at Wheatley Park, with a second unit scheduled for installation next year.

The project was overseen by Winder Power's Transformer Services team, which managed the installation using the jack and skid method. The physical installation was carried out by Collett & Sons Ltd. Additionally, the team built up the cooler bank on site.

Due to height restrictions during transport, turrets and bushings were temporarily removed and then re-installed during the build-up phase. This approach ensured compliance with transport regulations while maintaining installation integrity.

The transformer upgrade forms part of ongoing efforts to enhance electrical infrastructure at Wheatley Park, aiming to increase capacity and improve reliability.
