Waaree Boosts India’s Transformer Capacity
Waaree Transpower Private Limited, a subsidiary of Waaree Energies Ltd., is investing approximately $20.3 million (₹192 crore) in a new 500 MVA, 400 kV transformer manufacturing facility in India.
Expected to become operational by April 2027, the facility will manufacture transformers across 132 kV, 220 kV and 400 kV voltage classes, strengthening Waaree Transpower’s position in India’s high-voltage power infrastructure market.
The expansion comes as electricity demand rises and transmission networks require additional capacity to integrate large-scale renewable energy and battery energy storage systems (BESS).
The company currently has an order book of approximately $38 million (₹360 crore) for execution during FY 2026–27. The new facility will complement its existing manufacturing capabilities and support participation in larger and more technically demanding transmission projects.

The investment forms part of Waaree Transpower’s strategy to expand across renewable energy, BESS and grid infrastructure.
