5 Sep 2019

COLOMBIA - Colombia's Caribe and Oriente regions will receive new power transmission infrastructure as part of the government's 2017-31 reference generation and transmission expansion plan.

The country's Mining and Energy Planning Unit (UPME) has released the draft documents for the design, construction and operation of a new 171-mile, 500-kV La Loma-Sogamoso transmission line for 25 years, reports BN Americas.

The project will also include overhaul of the existing substations.

The line must be put into operation by December 31, 2023.

UPME documents are available here.
