Yash Highvoltage Ltd and Quality Power Electrical Equipments Ltd (QPE) have jointly signed a binding term sheet to acquire Sukrut Electric Company Pvt. Ltd. (SECPL), an India-based manufacturer of transformer components headquartered in Pune, Maharashtra. The full acquisition is being made from a German multinational, as confirmed in a recent stock exchange filing by QPE.

The deal unites two major players in India's high-voltage equipment sector--Yash Highvoltage, a global supplier of condenser-graded bushings, and Quality Power, known for high-voltage power products and power quality solutions. Their shared objective is to scale and modernize Sukrut Electric, a long-established brand within the global transformer industry.

Keyur Shah, Chairman and Managing Director of Yash Highvoltage, emphasized the strategic significance: "Sukrut is a respected name in the transformer ecosystem. With joint support, we will deepen product offerings and modernize operations to serve international OEMs more effectively."

Bharanidharan Pandyan, Joint Managing Director of Quality Power, highlighted Sukrut's global customer base and potential: "This acquisition positions us to meet the growing global demand for high-performance transformer components."

The transaction is expected to be completed within two quarters, pending regulatory and commercial approvals.
