Wilson Power Solutions has supplied a 1250 kVA 11000/415 V T2 Ecotrans® Distribution Transformer for a new solar car park at Scunthorpe Hospital, supporting the hospital’s low-carbon electricity network. The transformer is paired with an RN2d Ring Master Unit featuring internal arc classification and VIP400 protection.

The solar canopy, installed in the hospital’s staff “pit” car park, has a capacity of 1,182 kWp. Funded by state-owned Great British Energy, the canopy is designed to minimize glare and integrate with the surroundings. It will feed clean electricity into the hospital’s electrical network, reducing reliance on fossil fuels.

Wilson Power Solutions delivered the transformer through long-term customer ESM Power Ltd, ensuring compatibility with the hospital’s renewable energy infrastructure. The project highlights the role of specialized electrical equipment in supporting low-carbon initiatives in healthcare facilities.
