Wilson d2 Transformer Commissioned in Bracknell for Electricity Distribution
A 500kVA 11000/433V Wilson d2 (iDNO) Unit Type Distribution Transformer has been installed at a care home in Bracknell, UK. The transformer was deployed as a packaged substation by Zenit and constructed according to UK Power Networks standards.
The unit is a ground-mounted, unit-type transformer with both high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) connections on the same side. It meets the Tier 2 (2021) Ecodesign requirements for transformer losses, in line with UK energy efficiency standards.
The installation is part of broader distribution network activity in the region. The transformer supports the delivery of electricity through both licensed distribution network operators (DNOs) and independent distribution network operators (iDNOs).
Medium voltage switchgear and low voltage cabinets connected to the transformer are approved by UK DNOs, including UKPN (ENGIE), NPG, NGED, SSE, and SPEN.
This installation reflects ongoing updates and maintenance in the UK electricity distribution system, where unit-type transformers are commonly used for new or upgraded connections in residential and care facilities.
