Weidmann Electrical Technology Opens New Laminated Board Facility in Croatia
Weidmann Electrical Technology has inaugurated a new Laminated Board production facility in Pojatno, Croatia, on September 19, 2025. The opening ceremony was attended by notable figures including Davor Božinović, Deputy Prime Minister of Croatia, H.E. Beatrice Schaer, Swiss Ambassador to Croatia, and company leaders such as Franziska Tschudi Sauber, Chair of the Weidmann Board of Directors, and Maximilian Veit, Group CEO.
The new facility expands Weidmann's manufacturing footprint in Croatia by 8,000 m², bringing the total to 36,000 m². This development aligns with the company's global strategy to increase capacity and modernize operations amid growing demand from transformer manufacturers, driven by the accelerating energy transition.
Construction started in August 2024 and was completed in just over a year. The site is expected to create 40 new jobs, underscoring Weidmann's commitment to local economic growth.
This investment enhances Weidmann's ability to deliver high-performance laminated insulation materials critical for next-generation transformers, directly contributing to the efficiency and reliability of power grids worldwide amid the energy transition.
