19 Aug 2022

Santa Rita, Veracruz, MEXICO - WEG Transformers Mexico was designated to carry out the EPC (Engineering Procurement and Construction) project.

WEG has announced that WEG Transformers Mexico will manufacture substations for Nestlé.

According to WEG, the new Nescafé processing plant in the community of Santa Rita, in the municipality of Veracruz was designed to produce more than 40,000 tons (80,000,000 pounds) of coffee per year. For that, WEG Transformers Mexico was designated to carry out the EPC (Engineering Procurement and Construction) project.

They should provide the High Voltage interconnection (115 kV) composed of a 750-meter (0,47-mile) transmission line, a CFE (Comission Federal de Electricidad) substation and the Nestle substation, to supply their manufacturing processes safely and reliably.

In addition to these solutions, adaptation works should be carried out in two other CFE substations called Veracruz II and Santa Fé.
