WEG to supply vegetable oil transformer for Bomix plant in Brazil

2 Jun 2021
BRAZIL -- Power Engenharia has commissioned WEG to provide a vegetable oil-filled transformer for a Bomix plant substation in Simão Filho, state of Bahia.

The electrical maintenance company Power Engenharia has commissioned WEG to supply a 5 / 6.25 MVA 69CST / 13.8 kV vegetable oil transformer. The unit is to be installed at Bomix blown packaging company's manufacturing facilities in Simão Filho, state of Bahia.
The unit will play a very important role at the Bomix plant substation, operating as a step-down transformer. The special compact design should allow for easier installation.
Transformers insulated with vegetable oil are biodegradable and offer benefits such as increasing the equipment lifetime and minimizing environmental impacts.
The transformer is scheduled to be delivered in June 2021.
