Voltamp Energy has officially inaugurated its expanded Power Transformer manufacturing facility in Sohar, Oman, marking a major milestone in the country's industrial development. The upgrade boosts the plant's annual production capacity from 6,500 MVA to 12,500 MVA, significantly enhancing its ability to meet regional demand for high-voltage power solutions.

The expansion underlines Voltamp's commitment to localization, agility, and innovation within Oman's growing energy infrastructure sector. Strategically located near the Sohar Industrial Port, the facility allows for faster delivery and reduced logistics costs across the GCC.

In addition to the expansion, Voltamp is finalizing an upgrade to its Shunt Reactor testing capabilities. Once completed, Oman will join a select group of just 17 countries worldwide with this advanced testing infrastructure -- reinforcing the nation's position as a hub for electrical engineering and transformer manufacturing.

The facility is equipped to manufacture power transformers up to 500 MVA and 400 kV class, supported by leading global technology and testing equipment providers. Voltamp's technology partner, Tatung of Taiwan, contributes over a century of experience in energy innovation.

This development is expected to reduce reliance on imports, accelerate project delivery, and support sustainable industrial growth in the MENA region.
