Virginia Transformer Delivers Substation Units to Pulaski Electric System

23 Jun 2025
Pulaski Electric System (PES) has received two new power transformers to support a substation upgrade in Pulaski, Tennessee. The units were manufactured by Virginia Transformer, a major supplier of power distribution equipment in North America.

Each of the delivered units is rated at 15/25 MVA and 46/13.09 kV, designed to serve the growing energy needs of PES customers. The transformers are intended to operate for a 60-year lifespan and will help ensure stable power delivery across the region.

Established in 1891 as the Pulaski Light Company, Pulaski Electric System is Tennessee's oldest municipal electric system. Today, it serves more than 15,200 electric customers, maintains nearly 1,200 miles of lines, and supports over 4,000 internet and phone users.

The project was coordinated in part by Daniel Baron of Power Service Agency, who led the sale and delivery process. The successful deployment represents ongoing infrastructure investment by PES and continued support for public power systems by Virginia Transformer.

No financial details of the delivery were disclosed.
