Virginia Transformer Delivers Long-Life Unit to Dominion Energy
Dominion Energy has taken delivery of a new power transformer for its Spring Grove Power Plant in Virginia. The 6.705 MVA, 34.5 kV zig-zag unit was manufactured by Virginia Transformer Corporation (VTC) at its Roanoke facility and is engineered for a service life of 60 years.
The unit is part of Dominion Energy's continuing infrastructure efforts to provide reliable electricity to its 3.6 million customers across Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina, and natural gas services to 500,000 customers in South Carolina.
VTC highlighted the delivery as an example of its commitment to providing high-quality, long-life transformers with industry-leading turnaround times. The company credits the sale to its manufacturers' representative from Ensales, Zach Perry, and recognized the team of engineers and technicians involved in the design, build, and delivery process.
Founded in Richmond, Dominion Energy remains a key utility provider in the southeastern U.S., with an increasing focus on modernizing its power infrastructure.
