Virginia Transformer Delivers High-Capacity Unit to Shermco Industries in Manitoba
Virginia Transformer has delivered a new 15/20 MVA, 66/24.94 kV power distribution transformer to Shermco Industries' Swan River substation. Built at Virginia Transformer's Roanoke facility, the unit is designed with a 60-year lifespan to provide reliable power for decades.
Shermco Industries, founded in 1974, is North America's largest and fastest-growing electrical testing organization, accredited by the InterNational Electrical Testing Association (NETA). The company operates more than 40 locations across the U.S. and Canada, with its Canadian division based in Regina, Saskatchewan, and service centers in Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon, and Winnipeg.
Virginia Transformer supports utility projects across North America by delivering high-quality transformers with short lead times. The Swan River delivery underscores the company's commitment to reliable energy infrastructure and long-term service life for critical electrical equipment.
The project was led by Antero Farias, manufacturer's representative from KA Factor, with a team supporting the design, manufacturing, and delivery of the unit.
