UL and Underwriters Laboratories announce new leadership and new international HQ in Singapore

NORTHBROOK, ILLINOIS - The global safety certification body UL and parent company Underwriters Laboratories announced that, after 15 years of service, Keith Williams will retire as president and CEO.


The UL Board of Directors appointed Jennifer Scanlon as president and CEO of UL and a member of the UL Board of Directors, effective September 30, 2019.

Underwriters Laboratories also announced that its board of trustees has appointed Terrence Brady, currently president of Underwriters Laboratories, as president and CEO of Underwriters Laboratories, effective January 1, 2020, upon Mr. Williams' retirement from that role.

UL also announced that it officially opened its international headquarters in Singapore which will serve as the international base for UL's operations and activities outside of the United States.

The headquarters is an expansion of its current facility at the research and business park in Singapore which includes UL's Cybersecurity Center of Excellence.
