Ukraine to receive $168m to modernize electricity grid

UKRAINE - The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will allocate $168 million for modernization of Ukraine's electricity grid.


The loan will be used to implement the program of modernization of the electricity grid, which will be executed by Ukrenergo, reports 112 UA.

The project includes replacement of transformers and reconstruction of 12 substations.

The program should increase efficiency and reliability of the electricity grid in Western, Northern, Southern and Central regions of the country, and it is one of the components of the integration of the Ukrainian energy system into the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity (ENTSO-E).
