Ukraine’s Odesa Region Restores 1,000 Transformer Substations After Storm
Power restoration efforts continue across the Odesa region following recent severe weather, with major progress reported in grid infrastructure repair.
According to Oleh Kiper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, energy crews have successfully restored electricity to over 53,000 households in 162 settlements. The teams have also repaired 47 overhead lines and restored 1,000 transformer substations.
These efforts follow widespread outages earlier this week, where 27 settlements were initially left without power. While significant progress has been made, approximately 9,200 subscribers in 20 locations still remain without electricity.
The fast-paced restoration demonstrates the resilience of local infrastructure teams in the face of extreme weather, which continues to disrupt energy systems across the region.
