Two 335-ton transformers successfully transported to Sellindge Substation in Kent

7 Oct 2019

KENT, UNITED KINGDOM - Two large power transformers have been successfully moved from the Port of Dover to the Sellindge Substation in Kent.

The transformers, each weighing 335 ton, were taken separately on a six and a half hour journey on a 260 ft long trailer along the route that started in Dover and circled the outskirts of Folkestone, before following the M20 towards site.

Once the first of the transformers was safely on site, the heavy hauling crew returned to the Port of Dover, and loaded the second transformer for transport.

The second transformer followed the same procedure, and arrived safely on site

This project was executed over two consecutive weekends in June this year.
