Trench Group, PTT Partner on High-Voltage Transmission Infrastructure
Trench Group and Pennsylvania Transformer Technology LLC (PTT) have entered into a long-term partnership agreement focused on supporting high-voltage transmission infrastructure projects in the United States.
The agreement was signed during a ceremony held at PTT’s manufacturing facility in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. PTT is a U.S.-based manufacturer of power transformers serving utility and industrial markets and operates as part of Quanta Services.
Under the agreement, Trench Group, a manufacturer of high-voltage components, will supply dry-type bushings for large-scale U.S. transmission projects, including infrastructure associated with 765 kV transmission lines. The projects covered by the agreement involve multiple U.S. utility companies.
The bushings will be manufactured at HSP US facilities in Charlotte, North Carolina, as well as at HSP Hochspannungsgeräte GmbH in Germany. HSP operates as a subsidiary of Trench Group and produces high-voltage bushing systems for transmission and substation applications.
The partnership is intended to support ongoing grid expansion efforts in response to rising electricity demand and increased transmission requirements across the United States. High-voltage transmission infrastructure, including 765 kV networks, is considered a key component in integrating large-scale generation and supporting long-distance power delivery.
Representatives from both companies attended the signing ceremony, including Sandeep Chakravarty of PTT and Nils von Dietman of Trench Group / HSP US.
