Transformers and Rectifiers (India) Limited Secures Major HVDC Project
Transformers and Rectifiers (India) Limited (TARIL) has secured a significant order worth ≈ US$ 6.5 million (₹53.33 crore) from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) for the repair, erection, testing, and commissioning of a 397 MVA HVDC Converter Transformer.
This contract marks a milestone as TARIL becomes the first Indian private sector company to receive such an order in the HVDC transformer segment, strengthening its position in the global high-voltage direct current (HVDC) market.
The order aligns with India’s growing demand for HVDC technology, driven by the integration of renewable energy, grid modernization, and expansion of transmission networks.
