You might have noticed that the Logo at the top left of our website now has the words COMM as part of our Transformer Technology name.


It represents our move from being merely a magazine to creating a community, a community of transformer experts, suppliers, designers, purchasers, and just about anyone with an interest in transformers. The number of members of this open community might surprise you as they have surprised me.

Why the change? We want to accelerate the acquisition and dissemination of information through daily news feeds and weekly featured Articles or Interviews. We want to create a reason for our community to return to Transformer Technology to gain the latest insight, information and wisdom, and we want to be the source of knowledge when anyone in our community searches for the most recent information on a subject.

We will maintain a "Seasonal Theme" for new content, like the current theme for Spring being "Fluids and Oils", while beginning to focus on the upcoming Summer season and the theme of "Monitoring, Diagnostics and Digitalization". Additionally, throughout all of the seasonal themes we will feature New Technologies and Methods. This new theme will not be seasonal since both new technology and methods can happen at any time.

With the ongoing digital transformation of communications, we see that publishing a magazine alone will not serve our community well. For major events like the upcoming October IEEE PES T&D Conference and Expo in Chicago we will publish a "special print edition", which will be a compilation print version to promote the Transformer Technology community.

Look for new features, more interactivity and more knowledge as we grow our impact in our community. The challenge to bring the best, the brightest and the most important information that our members can use is one that the team at APC Media relishes and I am thankful for their vision and support for these changes.
