12 May 2020

NEW YORK CITY, MANHATTAN - Hundreds of Upper West Side residents were plunged into darkness early Monday when a transformer fire cut off the area's power supply, New York Post reports.

The blaze broke out around 1:50 a.m. near the intersection of West 108th Street and Central Park West, according to the FDNY.

Dozens of firefighters responded to the fire and extinguished the flames in less than two hours without any reported injuries.
