In Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Layout (NPKL) of Bengaluru (India), delays in the installation of power supply lines have led to repeated thefts of electrical equipment, including power transformers. Despite efforts since mid-2022, nearly 20% of the work remains unfinished, leaving the area vulnerable to burglaries.

Contractors have erected electric poles and transformer components across the layout, but thieves have targeted these installations, causing significant losses. With only a few houses constructed in the area despite nine years of site allotment, residents cite the lack of power supply and incomplete infrastructure as major deterrents to construction.

Suryakiran A.S., spokesperson for NPKL Open Forum, highlighted the ongoing issues, stating that burglaries and vandalism of power-related equipment have hindered the layout's development. Despite complaints filed with the Kumbalgodu police, the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) has been criticized for its apparent inaction.

In response, BDA Commissioner Jayaram N. emphasized the need for residents to commence construction on their allotted sites and claimed ignorance of the incidents. However, concerns persist regarding the security of power equipment and the overall progress of Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Layout's development.
