TenneT and Energinet launch green electricity line between the Netherlands and Denmark
Dutch high-voltage grid operator TenneT and the Danish electricity and gas grid operator Energinet have put into operation the so-called 'green cable' between the Netherlands and Denmark.
The subsea high-voltage direct current (HVDC) cable runs approximately 202 miles and has a capacity of 700 MW, TenneT said in the press release.
The line runs between two onshore converter stations, one in Eemshaven (the Netherlands) and the other in Endrup (Denmark).
The converter stations were designed, constructed and equipped by Siemens as the main contractor.
