Teco wins $64m onshore transformer station project in Taiwan

6 Aug 2019

TAIWAN - Taiwanese company Teco Electric & Machinery has won a contract to undertake an EPC (engineering, procurement, construction) project to construct an onshore power transformer station for two offshore wind farms to be developed by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP).

The wind farms are located to the west of Changhua County, in central Taiwan. The transformer station will transmit electricity from the wind farms to the state-run Taiwan Power Company distribution grid, reports DigiTimes.

The construction on a $63.8 million transformer station project will start in early 2020, with the first phase to connect the 100 MW wind farm to be completed by the end of 2021, and the second phase to connect the 500 MW wind farm in 2023.
