STRAM Groupe Installs 6 Power Transformers in 60 MW Solar Plant in Tunisia
STRAM Groupe has completed a 60 MW photovoltaic solar power plant in Metbasta, Kairouan, featuring the installation of six power conversion transformers as a central part of the infrastructure. The project, executed between January and November 2025, strengthens Tunisia’s renewable energy capacity and supports the country’s clean energy goals.
The installation of the transformers is part of a larger technical effort that included:
- 14,421 H steel piles
- 1,311 single-axis solar trackers (1V84)
- 110,124 photovoltaic modules and 192 string inverters
- More than 565 km of DC cables and 37 km of AC cables
- 17 km of cable trenches, plus communication boxes, wind sensors, and weather stations
According to STRAM Groupe, the transformers were carefully integrated to ensure reliable energy conversion and stable operation across the solar plant. The company emphasized that the design and execution met international electrical and mechanical standards, ensuring long-term performance.
This initiative reflects STRAM Groupe’s commitment to providing technically optimized solutions for large-scale solar infrastructures, with transformers playing a pivotal role in delivering consistent, efficient energy from solar modules to the grid.
