PERU - Transmisora Eléctrica del Sur 4 (Tesur 4), a subsidiary of Spanish company Red Eléctrica, has filed a proposal for a power transmission project with Peruvian environmental authorities that will improve and upgrade the electricity supply in the southeast regions of Cusco and Puno.

The project involves the construction of a new 78-mile 220 kV transmission line between Tintaya and Azángaro (Pumiri) and expansion of the associated Tesur substations, which will connect to the national grid, reports BN Americas.

Current capacity in the area is limited to 138 kV.

The construction will take 18 months.
