South Dakota wind project receives construction permit

5 Aug 2019

SOUTH DAKOTA - The Sweetland Wind Farm project, which should have the capacity of producing approximately 200 MW of energy, received a construction permit to be built near Miller, SD.

The permit for the $240 million facility was issued by the South Dakota Public Utilities Commission (PUC), but construction will not start until Sweetland finds a buyer for the electricity generated by the wind farm, reports Daily Energy Insider.

Still, the project is expected to be completed next year and begin operations by December 31, 2020.
