Sineng Electric Supplies Inverters for Algeria Solar Projects
Sineng Electric has supplied central inverter solutions for two utility-scale photovoltaic projects in Algeria, with a combined capacity of 154 MW.
The projects include a 52.8 MW solar installation in Beni Ounif, Béchar Province, and a 101.2 MW facility in Ain Baida, Ouargla Province. Developed for SONELGAZ EnR by EPC contractor Amimer Energie, the projects use advanced PV technology designed for desert environments.
The installations integrate Sineng Electric’s 8.8 MW and 4.4 MW medium-voltage turnkey stations, combined with N-type TOPCon bifacial solar modules to improve system efficiency and energy output.
The inverter systems are designed to operate in challenging conditions, including high temperatures, sand and dust exposure. Features include IP65 protection, intelligent temperature control, multiple MPPT inputs, and grid support capabilities for stable operation.
Once operational, the two projects are expected to generate around 340 million kWh of clean electricity annually, reducing approximately 255,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions each year. The developments are also expected to create around 1,500 local jobs.
The projects support Algeria’s renewable energy strategy, which aims to reach 15 GW of installed renewable capacity by 2035, while reducing dependence on fossil fuels and expanding clean energy deployment across North Africa.
