GUANGZHOU, CHINA - Siemens has opened its most advanced factory for production of distribution transformers in Guangzhou, which will apply "Industry 4.0" standard and become a Siemens model factory in the global distribution transformer field.

Also, as a key part of Siemens global transformer R&D and manufacturing network, the new factory will provide medium- and high-end transformers and solutions to the global transformer market, the company said in the press release.

It is estimated to be completed and put into operation by 2021, when all the existing production facilities of Siemens Transformer (Guangzhou) Co., Ltd. (STGZ) will be relocated to the new site and the production capacity will double.
